Harmony Barber Shop at the Magic Kingdom

The Harmony Barber shop at the Magic Kingdom is hidden in the corner of Main Street.  Adults and children alike can receive haircuts.
Although small and quaint, Harmony Barber Shop performs between 350 and 400 services a week. Haircuts for children age 12 and under are priced at just $15. Another popular treatment for kids as well as kids-at-heart is colored hair gel, which costs $7.50. Of course there are also services for grown-ups to enjoy. An adult haircut costs $19. Beard and mustache trims are $10.
“First Haircuts” is the establishment’s specialty. Young Walt Disney World guests who receive their first haircut at the Magic Kingdom barbershop are treated to many delightful surprises, from “pixie dust” and bubbles to Mickey Mouse stickers, and an extra-special “My 1st Haircut” set of Mouse Ears and certificate. The “My 1st Haircut” special is priced at $18.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

This is a wonderful party to attend at the Magic Kingdom!  It requires a separate ticket but is definitely attending at least once.  The party happens on select nights in September and October.  You and your family can dress up, pick up candy, ride with no lines and see characters that normally are hard to find.  The Boo to You Parade and Hallowishes which is an awesome fireworks show are great additions as well.  I created a slide show to show you highlights of the night!

IT'S BEEN AWHILE!

It sure has been awhile since I last posted.  Boy am I making up for lost time.  We recently went to WDW in late September and had a wonderful time!  We did a few things that we hadn't done before.  My nine year old son went to the Pirates League (see the post below). I took him to Disney Quest and we stayed at the brand new Art of Animation Resort.  I finally got my son on the Tower of Terror although my husband is still a hold out:-) We also attend the Mickey Not So Scary Party again this year and I will have a post about this soon.  Also check out the Mouseketeer Vacations Facebook page for discounts and news about new packages!

ART OF ANIMATION RESORT

We stayed at the brand new WDW resort the Art of Animation Resort on our recent stay in September. My son chose the CARS resort but all of the resorts have a fun theme and are lots of fun!  Click on the link to take you straight to the WDW site to find out more!

On our trip to WDW in September my nine year old son did this and had a blast!  Even though this is a separate paid opportunity it is totally worth it.  All ages can experience this and fun can be had by the whole family.  If you have time on your next trip definitely check it out.
Pirates League Details
Begin your  transformation when you receive your Official Pirate Name as recorded from the leather-bound captain's log. Next, stop by the Muster Station and leave your old self behind as the Pirate Masters perform a marauder's makeover. Hear the ways of the scurvy sea dogs as they apply yer buccaneer beard, scars, earrings and eye patches. Or even be ye a boney pirate and wear yer skeleton on yer skin!
Once you have fully transformed, enter the Secret Room where your Pirate Portrait is taken for posterity and the Pirate Masters reveal their hidden treasure.

40th Birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth

Had a wonderful surprise birthday trip down to WDW for my 40th!  Great memories and wonderful times with my family!

Fastpass Changes

Fastpass changes are coming early next month.
Currently, guests can get a Fastpass and come back to the attraction after the return time has passed. Even if it’s hours later. Starting March 7, this will not be the case.
It’s expected that Fastpass return times will be enforced with a five minute early arrival and a 15 minute late arrival. Anyone arriving outside of those times will reportedly not be allowed entry.
Those of you who know our family know that we have used this strategy everytime we head to Disney and have shared it with many of you!  This is going to put a wrench in how we tour the parks!!  We will adapt.  Going to be interesting to see how this plays out!

Princess for a Day - on a budget!

Do you need a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique fix for your little princess in between Disney vacations?

Try this idea from a fellow Disney mom enthusiast - Jennifer Wasdin
Have your little girls dress up in their favorite princess costumes and go have a photo session with a local photographer or studio.  The excitement of dressing up and going out to show off will be so much fun for your princess!  It also should help your bank account too!  You could even add a tea party as another fun activity.

Disney's FASTPASS To Be Available for Meet-and-Greet for First Time

When meet-and-greets with Mickey move into a permanent new location in Town Square later this spring, Magic Kingdom guests will be able obtain a Disney's FASTPASS ticket specifying a one-hour window when they can return to see the popular character for hugs, photos and autographs -- without waiting in the standby queue. It will mark the first time the complimentary, computerized service has been available for a character meet-and-greet at any Disney Park.

It's been a long time!

I haven't posted and shared information about Disney in quite a while now.  I am going to be posting up to date Disney information in the next few days.  I also will be posting a Seaworld and Universal Orlando page so that you can learn more about those parks as well.
